Valentina Devine
Valentina Devine
grew up in Berlin, Germany, and has always knitted. In fact,
she cannot remember who taught her, and she may have even
knitted in the womb! She came to the U.S. as a war bride and
knitted for her family and friends. Her knitting allowed her
to work for a fiber business in New York and eventually start
her own business in the eighties. When she moved to New Mexico
in the early nineties, she was part owner of a boutique in
Santa Fe. She has been teaching “Creative or Abstract
Knitting” for eighteen years, throughout the U.S. and in
Germany. Valentina dyes her own yarn and is a vendor at
different wool and fiber festivals. She now operates out of
her own studio where she designs for different companies and
knits one-of-a-kind garments for local boutiques.
