Betty Meakim

Betty Meakim was born and raised in Amherst, Massachusetts. In 1988 she moved two miles away to Hadley, but still keeps contacts with family and friends in Amherst. After graduation from Amherst High School, she attended commercial college. In 1937 she began working at Amherst College and retired in 1982. Her work was in several offices, but the most gratifying was meeting and helping students. Along the way she raised four children, and her knitting has been an ongoing project.
