March 22: Field Trips!

The Dilemma of March 22:
There are two extraordinary book/knitting events scheduled for March 22, so it seems appropriate that we will have a KnitLit READS Field Trip that night, either to the Odyssey Bookshop in South Hadley, or to New York.
Whether you go down the street or into The City, these are events where you and your knitting are welcome. Both will involve authors reading while you knit, in the spirit of KnitLit READS.

Here are the choices:

Locally, there's a stellar event happening at the Odyssey Bookshop in South Hadley. Jeanne Braham and Barry Moser will read and sign The Light Within the Light: Portrais of Donald Hall, Richard Wilbur, Maxine Kumin & Stanley Kunitz.

Each poet-profile in The Light Within the Light is based on intimate personal interviews exploring the landscapes, lives, and artistic achievements of these four New England luminaries. Poems are woven into each essay, allowing the reader to experience the poet’s world in his or her own words. Illustrated with engravings by Barry Moser, this book celebrates both the spirit of the place and the genius of its distinguished poets.

And in New York City, Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, the Yarn Harlot, will launch her newest book, Stephanie Pearl-McPhee Casts Off: The Yarn Harlot's Guide to the Land of Knitting.

Take your pick. You can't go wrong. And next month I have a wonderful new book of stories to share, Tourist Season.

Hope to see you soon!
